It this German translation by Meier which forms the basis of this further translation into English. For a starter, the paragraph numbers are not exactly equal between both editions – in this edition, the part on the Imagination starts at 414. Although Meier was a faithful student to the work of his master, and this translation had already been started by Baumgarten himself, the Meier edition is different from the Latin editions of The Metaphysics. The original Latin text has been translated into German by Baumgarten’s student Friederich Meier. This is a free working translation of Alexander Gottlieb Baumgarten’s book Metaphysics (Metaphysik). ![]()
